Raw in LA

Went to Cru last night with a friend, a fabulous raw/vegan (they serve both raw and cooked food) restaurant in Silver Lake, Los Angeles. For my first raw vegan experience, I was beyond impressed with how delicious everything tasted. I’ve always wanted to explore raw foods, and Cru was a great introduction. The space is small but luckily we got there before the masses of people and were able to sit outside.

For an appetizer, we shared the mezze platter (apple beet salad, tzatziki, kale, fig plate, cashew cheese, flex, crackers)

For dinner, I had the Asian Noodle Bowl (kelp noodles, almond chili sauce). I honestly never knew food could taste this good. I was tasting flavors I never knew existed.

My friend got the ravioli cruda (jicama, cashew cheese, angula), another delicious entree (we switched plates to try each others)

We were so wonderfully stuff from dinner, that we took dessert (two raw key lime pies) to go.
