This is more of a milkshake than a smoothie, but I’m always disappointed when I’m looking for a vegan milkshake recipe and end up seeing “banana” in the ingredient list. In order to not disappoint you (if you’re as neurotic as I am), let’s just call this a “dessert smoothie.” If you like the combination of almond butter, bananas and chocolate, you will love this smoothie – it’s rich, creamy, and just the right amount of sweetness (and it’s vegan, unlike Ben and Jerry’s “Chunky Monkey” ice cream). Enjoy it as a special breakfast treat or even as a healthy dessert.
Ingredients:
· ¾ cup nondairy milk
· 1 frozen banana
· 2 tbsp. cocoa powder
· 2 tbsp. almond butter
· 1 tbsp. agave nectar
Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Enjoy (and don’t make fun of the nerdy photo of me with the smoothie, if you can help it)!
