Meat consumption is dropping

Good news! In the animal rights movement, we are constantly bombard by depressive news and stories of cruelty to animals and it’s easy for our spirits to get down. But, there is good news! Meat consumption dropped by 1 pound per person in the U.S. last year. In the latest report from the US Department of Agriculture, growth for broiler chicken meat production is expected to decrease, with production at an estimated 1.3 to 2 percent lower than in 2010. Why? Due to a decrease in the demand for their meat. This is fantastic news because not only is this proof that change is happening but chickens are the most abused animals in the world and now (at least in the US), the demand for their meat is decreasing. Vegans are making positive influences with their friends, family, co-workers, etc. and the effects are showing.
