Vegan options at the Wynn in Las Vegas

I spent Thanksgiving in Vegas with family and I knew that Steve Wynn became vegan in 2010, and started to offer vegan options at his hotel. Naturally, I wanted to go to show my support while I was in town. I had thought that only one or two of the restaurants in the hotel had vegan options, but when I asked the concierge for a menu of all of the restaurants, he enthusiastically told me that all of the restaurants at the Wynn and Encore have at least one vegan option. Hold up! That a game changer. Wynn hotel, a resort and casino on the Vegas strip, has vegan options at every one of their restaurants? That is awesome. This is another great step to show that veganism is becoming mainstream.

I went to the Society Cafe Encore for dinner one night, which is decribed as, “Chef Kim Canteenwalla’s reimagined American comfort cooking.” I was impressed with not only their vegan menu, but how attentive and educated our waiter was to veganism. When I mentioned I was vegan, he immediately got me vegan butter to use on my bread and also made suggestions for what to order.

To start, I had the Tomato Bisque (all of their soups can be made vegan upon request), which was delicious. I’m not much of a fan of spicy foods, but this soup had just the right amount of spice to it.

For dinner, I had the “Wynn” Burger With Cheese. I grew up eating cheeseburgers, so I jump on the chance to get a vegan burger. The Wynn burger definietly exceeded my expectations! Very yummy, and the chocolate shake was the perfect compliment. I can’t wait to go back to try more of the vegan options at the Wynn! Next time you are in Vegas, make sure to stop by and show that vegans support these great vegan options!
