The Humane Society of the United States released undercover footage today, taken at Oklahoma pig breeding faciliies owned by the two leading U.S. pork producers. HSUS also filed complaint with the U.S. Securities and Exchange and Federal Trade Commission, alleging false and misleading information about the animal care.
In a press release by HSUS , “In addition to the extreme confinement endured by animals at both facilities, the investigations found workers cutting piglets’ testicles and tails off with no painkiller, injured piglets with their legs duct-taped to their bodies, gestation crates overflowing with feces and urine, and employees hitting pigs’ genitals to force them to move from one crate to another.”
Please forward this investigation to your friends, family and anyone else that you think would benefit. Even though the footage is tough to watch, it’s key to educating people about what happens on factory farms.
Thank you so much for sharing our recent investigation. We would like to encourage everyone to take action at https://secure.humanesociety.org/site/Advocacy?cmd=display&page=UserAction&id=5320&autologin=true&s_src=website&s_subsrc=gestation_rls_013112 to let Seaboard and Prestage know that you oppose the use of gestation crates.
