Simple Two Ingredient DIY Face Scrub

Why spend crazy amounts of money on beauty products when you could make a simple face scrubs using items from your kitchen? All you need is baking soda and olive oil (you could also use coconut oil).

I keep these ingredients separate until I’m ready to use them. I have never mixed them ahead of time, though I’m sure that you probably could. I keep a little container of each in the shower and when I’m ready to polish, I wet my clean face and put a pea-sized amount of baking soda in the palm of my hand and then mix in the same amount of olive/coconut oil. (So if you try mixing ahead of time use equal parts of each).

Using my fingertips, I rub gently all over my face in a circular motion, everywhere but my eyes. Then rinse off and pat dry. Voila!

Bare Bones: Product Review and Giveaway!

Since becoming vegan, I’m much more aware of what I’m putting inside my body as well as out. Anyone else get frustrated when they look at an ingredients list on a beauty product and can barely pronounce some of the chemicals? Not cool! That’s why I love Bare Bones. All of the products are 4 ingredients or less. And are pronounceable! Yay!

Oh, and it gets better: all the products are vegan, cruelty-free, non toxic and beyond affordable. Bare Bones was founded by Monica Schrock who was equally concerned about what she was putting on her body. So she created her own line! And guess what? You can win ALL of the Bare Bones products now! This special gets you the cleanser, toner, moisturizer and both lip balms (and $30 value!).
