Make Your Mark Mondays #1

Mini-big announcement here at No Animals Harmed! So excited to share with you all…

I’ve come up with a new idea for No Animals Harmed, and I hope you’ll love this idea as much as I do! Every Monday, I’m going to blog with a different way to help animals. I’ve decided to call this series, “Make Your Mark Mondays”, a name that Veggin’ Out With Christa suggested, so she gets full credit! What better way to start the week then with easy ways to speak up for animals? I’m not sure how this will evolve, but I’m really excited for the series. If you have any ideas/suggestions/feedback, please feel free to leave a comment below or shoot me an email ( I love hearing from my readers!

Here is my tip for how to “Make Your Mark” today. ♥

With Thanksgiving  right around the corner, adopting a turkey in part of Farm Sanctuary’s Adopt-A-Turkey program is a fantastic way to give back this Thanksgiving. Instead of eating turkeys, sponsor a turkey and help Farm Sanctuary educate millions of people about the horrors that turkeys endure to end up on someone’s plate. Did you know that turkeys have excellent geography skills and can learn the specific details of an area of more than 1,000 acres? Turkeys are very intelligent animals!

Want to step it up? Sponsor a turkey on behalf of a friend or family member who is still a meat-eater. Farm Sanctuary will send them the adoption materials (which include a picture and description of the turkey!), making that connection with an animal could be the tipping point for your friend or family member. Sponsoring a turkey would make a great gift for the holidays too!

Happy Monday!

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi to Open Vegan Restaurant in LA

Ellen DeGeneres recently launched a ‘Going Vegan With Ellen’ website, and she may be serving up vegan food to LA too. With her (gorgeous) wife Portia de Rossi, the two are reportedly planning to open a new vegan restaurant in the San Fernando Valley. The couple is investing in the new restaurant with Chrissie Hynde and producer Steve Bing.  Vegan chef Tal Ronnen will be cooking up the cruelty free menu. Yum!
